Artifact Identification Day

An Artifact Identification Clinic was held at the Toronto City Hall Rotunda in March, 2004. Torontonians were invited to bring items that they have found in their gardens, backyards or neighbourhoods such as arrowheads, pieces of flint, decorated earthenware pottery, bone tools, stone artifacts or unusual stones. ASI archaeologists then reviewed, documented and photographed several private collections that had been found within the City and provide the owners with an assessment outlining a time period and cultural affinity for each piece. The information obtained has helped our team and the City of Toronto understand more about the archaeology within our own backyards!
