Teacup with pineapple motif.
This creamware tea cup was found on a Markham site occupied by John Neu, a blacksmith of German ancestry, circa 1794-1805. The vibrant pineapple motif has been painted over the glaze. Its exotic theme would have stood in sharp contrast to the isolated nature of Neu's home during the early years of the Berczy settlement.
